Practice Profile

Ivan read law at Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he graduated with an LL.B. (Hons) and P.C.LL. Following his undergraduate studies, he went on to obtain an LL.M. at London School of Economics with scholarship, and graduated with Distinction in Criminology and Criminal Justice.

Ivan joined chambers after completing his pupillage with Mr. Peter Duncan S.C., Mr. Nelson Miu, Mr. Bruce Tse, Mr. Jonathan Ah-weng, Mr. Martin Wong and Mr. Kenneth Lam.

Ivan is developing a practice in the whole spectrum of criminal matters. During pupillage, he has vast exposures to both financial crime (market misconduct and money laundering) and general crime (violent crime, sexual offences, dangerous drugs and traffic offences) at trial and appellate level.

In civil matters, Ivan has experience in contentious probate, personal injuries, defamation and matrimonial matters. He has been a CEDR accredited mediator since 2017 and is keen to develop an active mediation practice.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Ivan is fluent in Cantonese and English, with a conversant level in Mandarin. He can read and write in both Traditional and Simplified Chinese.
