Pupillage & Mini-Pupillage

Albert Luk's Chambers is currently inviting applications for positions in Mini-Pupillage and Pupillage. Our Pupillage Committee is dedicated to reviewing each application with a keen interest in candidates who demonstrate self-motivation, and the ability to work independently.

Pupillage Program

Embark on a pupillage journey with us and gain invaluable hands-on experience in the legal field. Our pupillage is designed to prepare aspiring barristers for a successful career. We aim to impart essential skills and practical knowledge that are fundamental to the barrister profession.

Mini-Pupillage Program

Our mini-pupillage is a two-week program designed to give participants a real taste of life as a barrister. Mini-pupils will have the opportunity to observe court proceedings, participate in client meetings, engage in legal research, and assist in case preparation under the supervision of our experienced barristers.

Albert Luk's Chambers Scholarship

Our Chambers is pleased to announce a scholarship opportunity equivalent to one month's pupil's honorarium, awarded to the most outstanding mini-pupil during their mini-pupillage. If you're interested in applying for this scholarship, please indicate your interest on the Cover Letter. Participants in the winter mini-pupillage of 2023 should note that their performance will be evaluated alongside the summer mini-pupillage participants of 2024.

Application and Selection Process

Applications for both pupillage and mini-pupillage are welcomed throughout the year at our Chambers. We recommend that candidates submit their applications about two months before their preferred start date for mini-pupillage and approximately six months for pupillage due to the high volume of applications we receive. However, the pupillage committee retains the discretion to consider late applications on a case-by-case basis.
